Interstate Trucking Academy
Portland, Oregon
We’ve all been feeling the effects of supply chain delays within our national product delivery network. One reason for this is that there just aren’t enough qualified truck drivers within the industry. The Interstate Trucking Academy is working hard to solve the problem by expanding their capacity to train new truck drivers and get them out on the road as quickly as possible.
Lockwood Carhart Architecture is currently working with the Academy on this new training facility in Southeast Portland. This new 6,500 square foot building will include offices, classrooms, training spaces and other support spaces. The building has been designed as a pre-engineered steel building, which is the most economical option for large scale buildings for industrial and related uses.
Training spaces and classrooms are located on the main level, with offices on a 960 square foot mezzanine. The building is positioned at the south end of the site, leaving large paved areas for truck maneuvering practice.
We are excited to be part of the solution to our national and international supply-chain problems. Helping our clients solve problems is what Lockwood Carhart does best!
