163 Charles Street, New York
Located in Manhattan’s West Village, the Charles Street Condominium is situated on a narrow 22’ x 100’ lot between a 19th century townhouse and Richard Meier’s latest luxury high rise apartment tower.
The building contains two levels of retail space and three apartments – 2 floors each – with a total building area of 13,000 square feet. The building is clad in brick and metal panel with floor-to-ceiling glass on the north and south facades. Projecting balconies are arranged in a staggered pattern to emphasize the two-story units and to provide visual connectivity between floors.
John was the primary designer of the building while employed with Daniel Goldner Architects in Manhattan and was intimately involved with all material selections and technical development.
