George Fox University
Cinematic Arts Building

Newberg, Oregon

The proposed new Cinematic Arts building on the campus of George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon is positioned on the east edge of an existing open space between the Pennington Residence Hall and the Klages Center.   The new building completes the outdoor space and forms a large courtyard which opens onto the main campus quadrangle.
Although referred to as the cinematic arts building, its program spaces are devoted equally, if not greater, to the ceramics and sculpture curriculum.  At 12,600 square feet, the building includes a soundstage space that is large and flexible with a clear ceiling height of twenty feet, a screening room which seats up to 88 students, a large ceramic studio that opens onto an outdoor workspace, and a sculpture studio.
The building will be a welcome addition to the expanding arts curriculum of George Fox University.
